Store picks of the week - ZARA

Faux leather skirt with zip: £25.99             As soon as I saw this beauty on the Zara website I thought of Three Floor. It has a similar edgy feel to it and at a fraction of the cost I'll be snapping this bargain up.
Varsity dress: £19.99.                 The tee style dress trend has been around a while now and I've still not tried it so I think I'll start with this bargain. I'll be pairing it with a chunky gold curb necklace, my beloved Michael Kors watch and some edgy ankle boots.

Get in My Wardrobe!

Lipsy Lace Sequin Bodycon Dress - £45.00

Just look how pretty this is! I love lace, especially in dresses and the colour of this one is perfect for summer or even for a wedding or party. I can see it being paired with Essie Mint Candy Apple nails and a pair of nude heels. At £45.00 this is definitely getting in my wardrobe!

My 3 Most Wanted Beauty Products.

1. YSL Peach Passion lipstick - £23.50

I saw this on Pinterest and instantly fell in love. YSL lipsticks have to be the prettiest around. This shade looks absolutely beautiful and I'm hoping there will be a sale somewhere at some point because at £23.50 my purse would hate me! :(

2. Bourjois Cream Blush 02 - £6.99

The countless blog reviews on this product have sold it to me. I use Bourjois original powder blush at the moment, but this cream blush sound fab. I imagine it would be easier to apply too. 02 is a pretty coral colour.

Real Techniques Core Collection brushes - £21.99

I use Eco Tools face brushes at the moment and I really like them but I'm looking for a change. I hadn't heard about Real Techniques until one day I rediscovered beauty blogs and read about 50 in one day! A lot of those blogs had reviews on these brushes, all praising them. My Boots Advantage card is going to love me. Plus I get double points as it's my birthday month.Win Win!

Hair Growth Tips

I've decided to do a post on hair growth as I've found out first hand how hair loss can affect someone's confidence and I've tried several methods to grow my hair quicker and tricks to make it look thicker. The photo above is the only picture I can find of me when my hair loss was at it's peak. (I hated photos at the time as you can imagine.) As you can see it's really thin around the front but at the back it was so short, I absoloutely hated it.

The reason for my hair loss might surprise some of you. It was due to my pregnancy. Before I got pregnant I had no idea that after you give birth there is a high chance of hair loss so when I started pulling out clumps in the shower a couple of months after I had my son Alfie, it came as a shock. To make matters worse I had my long hair cut into a bob while I was pregnant but if I'd had known this was going to happen I would have kept it long. I spent ages on google finding out why this was happening and what I could do to try and control it. Basically during pregnancy, increased levels of estrogen prolong the growing stage of hair. There are fewer hairs in the resting stage and fewer falling out each day, so you have thicker hair.

After you give birth, your estrogen levels take a tumble and a lot more hair follicles enter the resting stage. So the hair that didn't fall out while pregnant, starts falling out after you give birth. This can affect some women more than others and I was one of the unlucky ones. There are loads of other reasons for hair loss too and like me you're looking desperately for a soloution. Here is some of my best tips:

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment - £7.99 at Boots

I can't recommend this stuff enough. You just have to look at the reviews on the Boots website to see that this product works. I've used it for a few months now and not only has my hair grown faster, it is also in much better condition. It smells lovely and it's often on a 3 for 2 offer at Boots which makes it even more of a bargain. Even when my hair is long I'll continue using this, I love it that much. When I bleached my hair a while back I resembled a scarecrow. This saved the day and my hair is so much softer. At first I thought the hair growth claim could be a gimmick but I totally believe this does what it says on the tin after using it.

Biotin Maximum Strength - £10.49 at Amazon

I've been taking Biotin along with the hair growth treatment and I think the combination really works for me. My hair is now past my shoulders, is thicker and the root regrowth looks healthy and shiny. This could be down to either or both of these products, I'll never really know, but it's working for me so I'll keep taking them. It's a water-soluble B-complex vitamin necessary for cell growth and the production and metabolism of fat into amino acids. It also makes nails grow stronger so that's another perk I'm enjoying too.

Olive oil treatment

I use regular olive oil as a hair treatment now and again to make it shinier and healthier. Healthier hair then grows better. I just heat it in microwave for 30 seconds, apply it to my hair then put a shower cap over it for about a half an hour to an hour depending on how dry your hair is. You could even keep it on overnight for an intense moisture treatment.

Foods that promote hair growth

Oily fish, eggs and walnuts are all great foods to promote healthy hair.

General Hair Care

Try not to wash your hair every day as it strips natural oils that keep it healthy. Try to avoid blow drying your hair. If you use styling products make sure you use a good heat protection spray. Last but not least massaging the scalp stimulates the follicles so do it when applying the hair growth treatment and whenever you get a spare 5 minutes.

Samy Fat hair amplifying Hairspray

Samy Fat Hair Amplifying Hairspray 300ml
This is the best hairspray I've found to plump up the hair and make it look thicker. It smells nice too but don't spray too much or it can get sticky. The links for all these products are in the names.

I hope these tips help someone and thanks for reading. I'm hoping one day soon my hair grows back to how it used to be. I sometimes look at this old pic and wonder what I was ever thinking cutting my hair short.  Come back long hair, come back! x

My weekly fashion wishlist

**The Marcie Bag by Marc BTopshop Marcie bag - £49.00

I've had my eye on this for a while, it will go with everything and has a shoulder strap too. It reminds me a little of the classic Chanel bags and at a fraction of the cost, I don't mind if I do!

Michael Kors watch - £193.00 - Amazon

If wanted this watch for ages now but the price is the only thing stopping me. It's so gorgeous and seeing so many bloggers wearing them gives me a major case of the green eyed monster but I don't think I could bring myself to pay so much for an accessory. Getting it as a gift however, would be completely welcome. ;)

Black Pattern (Black) Black and Gold Carved Rose Bracelet Set | 266435509 | New Look

New look bracelet set - £5.99

I'd skip the pearl bracelet and combine these bracelets with the above Michael Kors watch for a stacked look. These are really girly and a bargain price!

Nivea Express Hydration Primer

I love primers and was so excited to hear Nivea were bringing one out. I use Nivea moisturiser and love that it's always purse friendly and this is no exception. I think it cost me around £5 and it is a 2 in 1 moisturiser and primer! Genius! The packaging is a pretty glass jar with a pink lid and is nice and sturdy. This doesn't feel like a regular primer, more on the moisturiser side, but it does deliver like other higher priced products. My foundation stayed put all day and this will last me ages because you only have to use a little as it spread so easily. I was using a Gosh primer before this but I'm grabbing the Nivea from now on. Much cheaper and the same power. Thumbs up.

5 products I couldn't live without.

I love a lot of beauty products but some are much more important than others. It was a tough choice but these are my top 5 can't live without products at the moment:

1. Revlon Colorstay foundation for combination/oily skin in Ivory. £12.99

This is my go to foundation and I've used it for years. I've got far from flawless skin and this gives me the coverage and longevity I need. My only bad point is sometimes it can look a bit thick so apply thinly and with a decent primer underneath.

2. Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner Black - £4.99

This is another product I've used for years and I doubt I'll ever switch to another. It's easy to apply, lasts all day and is nice and cheap. I've tried other liners before but none have ever matched up to the quality of this so I highly recommend it.

3. Mac Studio Fix Powder in NC15 - £20.50

I have very pale skin being a natural red head so this colour is perfect for me. I also use NW25 when I have a fake tan. I just use a couple of strokes over my Colorstay and it stays put all day with no shine. It gives great coverage and though it's expensive, it's completely worth it as you can wear it on it's own for a lighter foundation application and it looks gorgeous.

4. Mac Lipstick in Creme D'Nude - £14.00

Like a lot of other girls, I've been on a long quest to find the perfect nude lipstick. This, while not perfect, (the longevity isn't great) is the best I have found for me. It looks lovely with a smokey eye and doesn't make me look half dead which a lot of nude lippies can do. It feels moisturising too so it won't dry your lips out.

5. Barry M Gelly Hi-shine Nail Paint in Papaya - £3.99

I reviewed these polishes earlier and this is my favourite colour at the moment, it's just so bright and summery and it's on deal at Boots at the moment so go go go!
